bookshop fit-out in birch ply and pine plyProject by Tim Germainthe client wanted the main book shelf in the shop’s front room to be a statement piecethe 10′ wide shelving unit in the shop’s front room is made of powder-coated steel tube and birch ply. metalwork by danny sharp of blunt fabrications.the counter’s barrel unit incorporates a frame for a poster and has lots of storage space insidethe counter is designed so that, if the owner decides to change the shop layout, the “comet’s tail” unit can be flipped on its head so that the unit can be reversedthe triangular window unit not only offers angled display shelves but also has storage in the middle, accessed via the lift-off lidthe front of the triangular display unit that sits in the shop-window is painted with blackboard paintin the rear of the shop, we opted for cheaper brazilian pine ply. the design is based on cubes that can be mounted either landscape or portrait to offer two different shelf heights. the insides of the cubes are in the shop’s trademark orangecentral book stand in rear of shopview of bookshop from the rear with all shelving made in brazilian pine ply
