this large oak bench was designed in collaboration with a group of students in a series of messy art workshopsthe galvanised steel sub-frame, made by my friends at Blunt Fabrications in Manningtree, means the bench will last for decades…… because it breaks my heart to see all the legs rotting off wooden benches in parks all over the worldthe local, needs-must felled oak slats (supplied by the great people at Greenways Countryside Project) were screwed on by the students in such a way as to allow them to air-dry quickly, thus massively extending the life of the bench
