the architect resident removed the dividing wall to the kitchen to make a large open plan space. this peninsula unit was made to “hide” the fridge and a pantry unit and also display books to soften the kitcheny-ness.

the dividing wall is now replaced by a mixed-use prep area/work desk/dining table in hand-laid formica on inch-thick birch ply. this incorporates drawers on both sides and the bought-in stools had to be just the right height.
