“Standard bespoke” was what the council told us they wanted- 9 benches all different but related for a park in the New Forest.  Made with galvanised steel frames by Sharp Metalwork of Manningtree and with local sustainable oak from the Greenways Countryside Project….. and decorated with large, colourful glass marbles. And fyi, the staining underneath is NOT rust but rather tannine leaching out from the oak and will soon disappear.

all 9 benches are different sizes, up to 6-seaters

the well-spaced oak slats allow them to quickly dry off from the rain which helps to slow down the aging process of the wood

unlike factory-made versions, our bench slats are all different in shape, reflecting the nature of the planks of local sustainable oak that we use…… but importantly, all the slats are simple flat slabs of oak and so, were anything untoward to occur, replacement is a simple task for any local woodworker
